STAFF PROFILE
Dr. RM NARAYANAN joined Dr. M.G.R Educational Research Institute University, Chennai in 2010. He is working as Professor in Department of Civil Engineering. He holds graduate and postgraduate in Earth Sciences from Madurai Kamaraj University, Pondicherry Central University and a Ph.D. in Marine Environmental Remote sensing from College of Engineerig Guindy, Anna University, Chennai. Dr. Narayanan served as a Senior Scientist in the Indo-US ‘Research Cruise’ for a period of 10 days in the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea in the Ocean Research Vessel ‘Sagar Nidhi’. Dr Narayanan has published ~60 articles in International, National Journals, book chapters and various conferences proceedings of International and National importance. He has filed 5 Indian patents to his credits and has 20+ years of experience in Industries, teaching and research. His research interest is focused on remote sensing, GIS, GPS and coastal environment. He has close association with Ministry of environment and Forest, Ministry of Earth sciences, Department of Science and technology, Survey of India, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Institute for Ocean Management, Institute of Remote sensing, National remote sensing centre, Space application centre, World Bank experts and Tamil Nadu state planning commission in various projects of national importance. Currently he is executing research project for ISRO titled "Assessment of various oceanographic parameters and development of regional bio-optic algorithms for primary production estimates around eastern coast of Tamilnadu, India" and also has executed the project for TN Govt entitled “Hydrographic Surveys around Abandoned quarries in and around Chennai”. He is presently an expert panel member in SERB DST (N-PDF Scheme) for scrutinising the proposal submitted in the field of water resources and Environment. He too serve as the scrutinising expert panel member in MHRD & DST joint program IMPRINTS in the fields of Advanced materials. He is presently member of Ocean Color Forum (OCF), Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA, USA and International Ocean Color Coordination Group (IOCCG), Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, CANADA. He was one of the editor of American journal of remote sensing (Science Publishing Group) and also reviewers of journal “Geomatics, Natural Hazards and Risk” (Taylor & Francis Group), Current Science, Ocean sciences journal, International journal of Civil Engineering etc...
Mrs.V.Niranjana is working as JRF in ISRO RESPOND project entitled “Assessment of various oceanographic parameters and development of regional bio-optic algorithms for primary production estimates around eastern coast of Tamilnadu, India” from February, 2020. She has graduated her B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from Arunai Engineering College and M.TECH in Environmental Engineering from Dr.M.G.R Educational and Research Institute. She is the overall topper in M.TECH and holds a gold medal for the same. She has also pursued Diploma in Industrial Safety at Annamalai University. She is a qualified GATE scorer and has worked as a JRF at Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), Karaikudi for a period of about two years. She has carried out Corrosion studies on magnesium and aluminum alloys by using SVET (Scanning Vibrating Electrode Technique).She has also served as a lecturer at Apollo Engineering College, Chennai for about six months.
Mr. C. Benedict Rosario is working as JRF in ICMR Project entitled “Effect of Particulate matter on Covid -19 spread and hot spot mapping using AERMOD & GIS Tools- A Cross Sectional study from Greater Chennai, India" from May 2022. He holds an MTech degree from SRMIST , Chennai. He has qualified in NTA-UGC NET for lectureship during 2019. Through out his career he has passion towards research and underwent several certification programs in IIRS- ISRO. He has carried out land slide mapping studies for Gudalur Taluk using remote sensing during his dissertation.
Mrs.A.Vislatachi is working as a Research Assistant in NRSC-SAC-ISRO (OCM3) project titled “Estimation of Primary Productivity and validation of OCM3 chlorophyll retrievals using in-situ observations and inherent Optical Properties”. She has graduated in B.E in Computer Science and Engineering from Infant Jesus College of Engineering, Tuticorin and M.TECH in Remote Sensing from Anna University Regional Campus- Tirunelveli. She did her M.TECH Academic project in Central Marine Fisheries Research and Institution Tuticorin. She has three years of teaching experience in various lead Institutions. On her credit she has one international journal publication titled “Land use and Land cover mapping and Shoreline Change Studies in Tuticorin Costal area using Remote Sensing and GIS”.
Mr. E. Giridharan is working as Technical Assistant in Dr.M.G.R Educational and Research Institute University, Chennai Since September 2022. He has graduated from Jaya college of Arts and Science in B.B.A . He is currently involved in assisting collecting Air pollution samples from the Greater Chennai Region in ICMR project entitled “Effect of Particulate matter on Covid -19 spread and hot spot mapping using AERMOD & GIS Tools- A Cross Sectional study from Greater Chennai, India.” He has Succesfully Completed Level 2 on Tally.ERP9 and Basic computing knowledge in Ms-Office and related softwares.
Mr. Sundara Vadhanan S D is working as a Junior Research Assistant in Career Centre. He has graduated in B.Sc Geology from Dr.M.G.R Educational and Research Institute . He has Carried out a Project in Satellite Oceanography during his dissertation. He is currently working with water quality analysis and field data collection.

Mr. P. Robert Singh is working as Data entry operator/Technical Assistant in Dr.M.G.R Educational and Research Institute University, Chennai, since June 2021. He has graduated his M.A from Annamalai University . He has served as secretarial and managerial positions in lead institutions and Industries. He is currently involved in assisting and analysing the offshore samples collected from the Bay of Bengal in an ISRO RESPOND project entitled “Assessment of various oceanographic parameters and development of regional bio-optic algorithms for primary production estimates around eastern coast of Tamilnadu, India.” He has computing knowledge in Ms-Office and related softwares.
Mrs.S.Kalpana has workied as a Senior Research Engineer from March, 2020 till 21-10-2022. She has graduated her B.E in Civil Engineering and M.E in Environmental Engineering, both from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore. She has around ten years of teaching experience in various educational institutions. She has presented papers in two National and One International Conferences. She also holds a journal publication as second author in International Research journal of Engineering and technology. She has attended nine workshops related to Water and waste water analysis and treatments.
